PS 199 Reprieved

posted Jun 26, 2013, 7:37 AM by Marc Donner

Press reports in the West Side Rag (http://www.westsiderag.com/2013/06/14/breaking-public-school-demolitions-averted) on June 14th and picked up by the New York Times tell us that plans to demolish PS 199 and replace it with a luxury high rise apartment building have been averted, at least for now.

The reprieve extends to PS 191, but the East Side’s School of Cooperative Technical Education was not so lucky.

We have not yet seen any official communication on the topic, so it is hard to know what’s next. Will PS 199 be put up for demolition again, or is it off the table for good?
